Chrysler Town and Country had a major ABS defect and they recalled about 300,000 vehicles to replace the ABS. These were for the 1990 - 1993 models. Is yours one of them. It's almost 15 years since the recall - so not sure if this is what you're asking about.

The Chrysler Town and Country will have an ABS warning light which will come on if there is any problem. You can also feel the problem if you notice any difference while braking your vehicle. There are auto scanning machines at auto shops/service centers that will pinpoint the problem.

There's also a part called the ABS controller. If your ABS fails this may be the part that needs to be replaced or repaired - it's located in the front suspension cradle and integrated with the hydraulic control unit. Don't try replacing it yourself if you're not competent!  add a comment

The ABS (anti lock brake system) on the Chrysler Town and Country did have a recall a few years ago. People were having the breaks lock up in the park position. That is what I would look out for.

The Chrysler Town and Country ABS is a nice mini-van; however, a few cons of the van would be the low fuel mileage. This is not one of the more fuel efficent vans on the market. Another con is the base model doesn't compete with other brands.

There are no main concerns that are mentioned with the ABS. However the proper maintenance should be required in order to keep from having problems with your ABS. Making sure that all fluids are checked and filled when needed is important in order to not have your ABS light to come on.

Chrysler recalled 308,000+ vehicles from 1991-1997 for defects in the ABS system hoses, pumps, and motors. Chrysler seems to have solved these issues in models produced in this decade.
