Did you mean lymphoderma or lymphedema? There is no cure for lymphedema and treatment focuses on minimizing the swelling and controlling the pain. It really sounds very similar to the treatment for lymphoderma which made me ask if these are the same thing or not. Are you able to clarify?

The most commonly suggested treatment involves decongestive physiotherapy, which include the use of compression devices and Manuel Lymphatic Drainage. Drug therapy is also described, although somewhat controversial in effectiveness. That's all.

I used Massage therapy instead of what you have suggested here. There is a massage technique which is designed to aid the in movement of lymphatic fluid called lympathic draining. Check with a doctor and get a recommendation for a medical spa that specializes in this treatment cuz it worked!  add a comment

Your specialist will go through any and all treatments with you at the time of diagnosis. Together you will decide which lymphoderma therapy will be best for you. I saw that you already had your answer below but really do advise you talk to your doctor about this.

Lymphoderma treatments are most often aimed at decreasing swelling and controlling pain levels. Massage therapy is one of the common forms of this treatment. More common advanced treatments use drug therapies - pain medications and steroids or inflammatory medications. Even more advanced therapies use compression devices and Manuel Lymphatic Drainage, which may not be covered by many HMO's.

Lymphoderma is not a medical term. If you mean lymphedema, you are suffering from swelling in the extremities. The most common treatment is usually compression garments, diuretics, and elevation of the effected extremity. There are surgical options as well if symptoms are caused by compression of a major blood vessel.

Well often it is said that there is no cure. But therapy is available to ease and cool down the pain. Also when you are getting treatment, you do not know how well it is working til later.
