Was the movie "Enough" researched from a legal standpoint?

I always felt like what she did would have been premeditated murder. She plotted against him and set him up. By defintion, I think it was illegal.

Basically everything that happened in that movie was unrealistic or illegal or both. (The car chase would be an example of "both.") What the character did was not legal in any way. It would even be questionable if the abusive husband had attacked first. Sometimes self defense is still prosecuted.
