"Cars" was made by Pixar. This company is now part of Disney, but when "Cars" was being made, up through early 2006, it was still independent.

Cars was made by the company PIXAR which is a company traded with by Disney. At this point Disney has a long contract with pixar so currently you can say that cars was made by a company owned by Disney. So the answer to your question is pretty much yes.
