You must ask your administrator to re-enlist them. He or she may have disabled the properties to stay with company guidelines or may have decided to disable the tab in order to keep the desktop background from being changed.

You may be able to get the display properties tab back by uninstalling and reinstalling the video driver for the operating system, if this does not work you may have no choice but to reinstall the operating system itself.

Windows XP may scale back video card drivers, changing the display options, thus, one should check to see these drivers are the most recent ones, and, if that fails, try reinstalling the original drivers. A poster on suggested changing DWoRD Value such "NoDispScrSavPage" to a data value of 0.

The properties are there. They just aren't visible on this layer. Reload Adobe photoshop and make it show all the hidden layers. Select the XP tab and copy the info to the top layer.

Warning! Modifying the registry can cause harm to your PC be careful. Open regedit. exe and browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System. Look for any keys that start with NoDispxxxxxx. If they are set to a value of one change them to a value of zero. Example if you are missing your screensaver tab check the key NoDispScrSavPage value.
