The shifter on my transmission won't shift out of park. What's wrong?

There is a lock near the shift lever that releases electrically when break is applied. A small hole by the shifter lets you manually release the shift lock.

there could be a few things wrong with it, the best thing to do is to call some one to get it fix immediatly because you may fix it but then it could break again and could put you in danger. so calling some one and asking a professional would be for the best.
