Should you need an MRI before you get dental work?

This would be highly unusual for someone with normal health. If your dentist is suggesting this, you should ask some questions. If you don't like the answers, get a second opinion.

Not usually. Unless you're going to be sedated for the dental work, you should not need to worry about anything as serious as an MRI. Unless you have other conditions, the dentist shouldn't need to worry about the condition of your brain, which is what an MRI is looking at.

Not usually. The dentist normally just gives you basic x-rays. You put a piece of X-ray film in your mouth and bite down. They take a picture of your teeth.
