Purchase infant formula from a known reputable store. And make sure you check the expiration date for current dates. Also check any can for potential dents or damage and do not buy if damages. A discount is fine if it is new product from a known source.

Not unless it is a manufacturer's discount, like a coupon. Often when infant formulas are on discount, or found in second hand shops, it is because they either are near or past their expiration dates. Formula past the expiration date could make your baby sick, especially if it is milk based. Stick with what you know is safe.
