Should you cook oysters while they're live?

I know you have to do that with lobsters.

Most of the time when cooking oysters, they've already been shucked and separated from the bottom shell. Cutting through that muscle kills the oyster. It is, however, very important that your oysters are alive until shucking, as oysters decompose very quickly once dead, and it can be extremely dangerous to eat a spoiled oyster.

Put your live food in the freezer for an hour in a plastic bag, then drop it into boiling water. For a lobster/crab, chill it and kill it before boiling.
