Yes you should use a perma press dryer if you have permanent press clothes. The cotton setting will shrink and wrinkle your knit clothes (and possibly ruin them). Always check the cleaning label on your clothes.

You should use permanent press if you want reduce the wrinkling on your clothes. It's also good for you to use liquid or cloth-based fabric softener as it reduces static.

On a high heat, some clothes may shrink or lose its natural pleats. Pull out of the dryer and hang them and you may not have to iron them.
