Should I leave a bandage on my burn at all times?

I have a burn on my arm and need to know if I need to leave it bandaged?

No, don't keep a burn bandaged at all times. If it is open and weepy, then the bandage will help prevent infection, but once it scabs up a bit, it needs air to heal.

definitely keep your burn bandaged when in the sun or just outside in general to prevent infection when at home take the bandage off and allow air to it

You should keep the bandage for some initial period say for a week in the day when you go out or work whereas in the night you can just apply the medicine & keep it open. In few days the skin will heal with a black & rough covering, you can then stop using bandage even in day time.

You can, but it is not recommended you do need to wash the area, allow it to breathe and watch for infection. I would say when at home take the bandage off and allow it to air out. When you go out of the house bandage it up so that you can protect it. You should get it looked at.

Should my 2nd degree burns on my hand tingle and throb a week after I burned it? Ialso noticed it is more at night... my knee does the same throbbing. It really hurts!

Yes, the nerves have been damaged and this creates pain. The burned area also has increased blood flow to bring white cells to the area for healing. This creates the throbbing.  add a comment
