Suggesting counseling will likely set off a firestorm. Explain why you are leaving her, and do so. trust me.

If you love your girlfriend, you should probably recommend counseling and/or medication. However, if she is mentally or physically abusive to you, you should end the relationship for your well-being.

Try talking to her about her problems, sometimes a person just needs to know there is someone there for them. Maybe she would be willing to get some expert help if you suggest it. There may be some past issues that she is dealing with, and is afraid to bring them out into the open.

First of all try to be supportive and understanding. Talk to her and listen, and maybe suggest professional counseling as an aide to her problem.

I suggest that you ask her to talk to her doctor immediately. Of course, do it gently. Look up some information on PMDD and suggest she read it. Sometimes hormonal issues can be controlled using medication or vitamins. Remind her it's not her fault.

She could be suffering from Depression or another mental issue. You should try to see if you can get her on medication to help her out.

Make her happy and spread peace in life. Find the likes and dislikes of her and behave likewise. Make her understand that once words are thrown, they cannot be retaken.
