My friend has had a morphine overdose, what should I do?

You should have called 911 immediately. Considering you chose to ask a question on the internet instead, I can only hope he/she isn't dead.

First and foremost, contact poison control or 911. They will probably ask a series of questions in regards to your friend. It would be helpful to locate a driver's license and the medication or empty container with strength if available. Do not hang up until help arrives.

If one finds a friend has overdosed on morphine call for an ambulance immediately. A morphine overdose can affect the respiratory system causing the person to stop breathing.

If unable to get your friend to the hospital you need to watch their breathing and keep them awake. Morphine will make you breath to slow.
