My dial-up Internet keeps connecting and disconnecting every 10 or 15 minutes. What's wrong?

It can be a number of issues. Your provider might be having too much load on their servers so you keep timing out after awhile. Your phone cord might be old and can't handle the work load, or your dial up modem in your computer might be going bad. You can call your provider to help you.

This could be caused by a variety of problems. Make sure all wires are secured. If there is static on the line due to weather or other issues, this could cause problems. Try accessing another number if possible. Contact your ISP if necessary.

Try these: someone is picking up the phone, you have a noisy line, you have spyware/virus. Try contacting your ISP too, it may be a problem on their end.
