My cat just coughed up a large hairball. There is another place where some blood came up. She just did it again and coughed up a clear mucusy liquid splotchy with blood. Is this from a hairball?
Coughing up blood is never normal, and could be a result of straining too hard when coughing, or something very serious. Your Vet can assess and find the cause.
This does sound like it was caused by a hairball. having already coughed up a large hairball, it is likely the blood is just from scratches on the throat.
