Yes, you could use the different levels of octane. However, regardless of altitude the vehicle should operate just fine at its recommended octane level.

It is not very wise to use 87% octane fuel for an altitude over 6000 feet just simply because the atospheric presure varies & is thicker, making travel more intense. A high octane fuel for raised elevations is ideal & reccommended for steep &high elevations & will make the vehicles performace better.

If you use a lower octane at this sea level your vehicle will lack power and you will also run the risk of engine ping which could result in serious engine damage. Always use the manufacture recommended octane for any given scenario. Otherwisw you will void any warranties associated with your vehicle.

You should not run a lower octane than what the manufacturer states. The higher altitude require a fuel that burns better. A lower octane can cause engine running issues.

87% would give a bt more exertion to your engine but can be used. I dont recommend it for long term use.

You must use a higher octane rated fuel at a higher altitude. If you where to use a lower octane fuel at the higher altitude it could potentially cause engine damage. Fuel burn worse in the higher altitude due to less oxygen in the air.

You should run the octane suggested by the manufacture. Lower octane fuel, especially at higher elevation, increases the possibility of detonation that can cause engine damage. You will also experience worse gas mileage and performance.
