Your white blood cell count (WBC), is the indicator of infection. If greater than 10.0 this could mean infection present. The lower the WBC, there is less ability to fight infections. Elevated lymphocytes means viral infection present usually. Lower lymphocyte counts usually are related to physical stress such as injury.

It sounds like your WBC and lymphocytes are low. I would discuss with the doctor what your results mean. It sounds like your immune system is not fighting infection like it should. You should discuss with the doctor why your immune system would not be producing enough white blood cells to fight off an infection.

What this means is that patients should not receive medical information that they cannot interpret. The results can mean a host of things, depending on previous values and other tests. Your physician can tell you what it all means.
