My 2003 Jetta's charging system has a problem. What else could it be, and where would it be located?

The alternator checks ok. The battery checks ok.

This same situtation happened to me a few years back. It turns out that the trunk light was staying on even when the trunk was closed. Whenever the car sat for a couple of days, the battery would slowly wear down. Check your sensors!
