Actually yes, in some cases. Email addresses should be kept private unless there was an opt-in saying it is OK for the collector to do so with the email address.

it is not at all illegal to read but it is not proper to read as it may contain some personal things which he/she may don't like to share with you or anybody...

It is not illegal to read e mail address to some one else. But are always private and and it should not be shared with other people if u know that person is not going to miss use the e mail you can read the mail Only person mail can be read not offical e mail
