Washington Mutual is no longer in business as it did go down during the Banking Crisis. In fact, Washington Mutual's going defunct in 2008 represented the largest bank failure in US History and the Second largest Bankruptcy ever.

Washington Mutual was taken over by bank regulators and has been sold to J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. It was the biggest U.S. bank to fail, due in large part to its participation in the sub-prime mortgage debacle. Account holders are able to use their ATM cards at all Chase locations at no charge.
