Washington Mutual (WaMu) was taken over by Well Fargo bank. The account could still be valid. Eventually, Wells will replace WaMu cards and checks, but it might take a while.
Washington Mutual is no longer in business but their assets were purchased by Chase bank. If the credit card account is still valid and has not passed the expiration date, then the account should still be valid.
