Is vacuum packed meat safe to eat after the use-by date?

I would not. The date is set by food standards in order to assure the safety of the product. I would not risk eating meat past the use by date. Meat will go bad after a few months in the freezer and you can still get food poisoining from it.

as long as the meat smells like it should and is not turning green or growing any mold on it is should be safe to it. especially if its only a few days past date. might worry if it is months out of date.
