The Old Testament includes Numbers 18:26-32 directing children of God to offer a tenth of their earning to the Church. New Testament references include Mark 12:41-44 and Luke 21:1-4.
There is no question that tithing was required of Jews under the Mosaic Law and it was even practiced by Abraham before the Law. In the New Testament, the guideline for giving seems to be "let each one give as he purposes in his heart" 2 Corinthians 9:7.
Tithing is a commandment. The best Biblical references I can give is when Christ stated "give unto Ceasar that which is to Ceasar" & would a man rob God?
yes it is biblical it comes from jewish laws that were laid out in the old testament i think in dueteronomy. The Jewish people were commanded to give a tenth of everything they had crops, livestock, etc in sacrifice to God.
