Is there such a thing as chairs that turn into tables?

My mom owns a bench that turns into a picnic table. It is made out of cedar to be used on the patio. My dad bought it for her as a Mother's Day gift and I think he got it at Home Depot. I have also seen a design for a step stool that turns into a chair.

Yes ,I have 2 of them ,most are homemade Amish, the table top acts as the back of the chair and is pegged. The seat is hinged and lifts up for storage. When table is needed ,pull the pegs and drop table top to the side hangers and peg.

I couldn't locate a specific manufacturer of this item, but supposedly they do exist. The only information that I could find refers to Amish artisans crafting a chair that has a peg mechanism that allows conversion between chair or table. Just remove the peg(s), convert the item, then return the pegs to secure it.

Modern furniture does come like this sometimes. Websites like Ikea carry items that can become multiple objects such as a table becoming a chair.

Not to my knowledge is there such a thing as chairs that turn into tables. For one if your chair turned into a table, what would you use as chair. Second, just the logistics of it would make it virtually impossible to create such a piece of furniture. So my answer would be no.

Yes i have seen them before they remind me of the chairs you sometimes see in classrooms (at least the only ones I've ever seen). They have a metal frame and then on the seat and back is that squarish wooden back and seat. The back folds down so it acts as a table.

Definitely. Amish furniture includes chairs that turn into tables. So do many antique stores, as it was a very popular concept at the turn of the century.

Yes there is some beach furniture or garden summer furniture have chairs that convert to a small table for picnics at the beach, or you can use the the furniture in your garden which easily folds. Small stools that convert to a table.

Yes, sure there is! You can call it minimilistic furniture. It is nothing extraordinary, just a simple plank of wood folded at equal intervals to make a square. All you need to do is use the wodden top and store you cushions in the empty space at the center!
