Yes, there is an HD projector. The price for an HD projector is more than the average projector, but you get what you pay for, and what you get with an HD projector is a higher quality image. Prices start at about $700 for an Optoma HD66, and go up to $6,000+ for more well known models.

HD projectors do indeed exist. They are available as a ceiling mounted projector which would work in a lecture hall.
