Is there anything I can do for a sick assorted platy?

Move the platy into a large goldfish bowl with gravel, decorations and plants. Give the platy enough places to hide. Feed a varied diet. Change 100% of the water each day. If the platy is sick, you'll need to immediately quarantine it from the rest of your platies.

The best thing to do is set up a quarantine tank and remove it from the stressful main tank. And if you know what the problem is you can treat it in the QT tank and it will not effect the main tank. Luckily they are fairly hardy fish and should bounce back.

You can change 25% - 50% of the aquarium water and replace it with fresh, dechlorinated water. If you know what is making your platy sick you can attempt to treat the disease/parasite/fungus/etc.

There are a number of websites and products devoted to curing illness and disease in tropical fish. I have not really found any medicines that I would recommend; most are expensive, don't work that well, and expire quickly. I euthanize my sick fish before the illness can spread-- most medicines cost more than you'd pay to replace the fish.

There are many different medications for fish, but you will need to know what is wrong with your platy.Most pet stores will be able to help you find proper medication.
