Yes. Quarters were made with silver up until 1965, so depending on the year of the coin, there could be silver in it. Check your quarters to see if they were made in 1964 and earlier, they have silver in them. These quarters are worth three dollars if you bring them into pawn shops or coin collector stores.

From 1932 to 1964 Washington head quarters were 90% silver, each one containing 5.625 grams silver. Quarters made after 1964 do not contain any silver. These quarters are fairly valuable, the silver in just one of these quarters is worth more than three dollars. Because of this, it is rare to find one of these quarters still circulating.

Sorry, but there isn't any silver in quarters. Their core is 100% copper and the shell around the copper is an amalgam of copper and nickel.

Quarters were around ninety percent silver until the year 1965. Beginning in 1965, quarters no longer contained silver and were instead copper and nickel clad. It is rare to find silver quarters remaining in circulation due to their age and they are removed for their silver content.
