Is there an error on the New York state quarter?

I thought I heard something about it.

Yes, the error on the New York state quarter is the absence of the mint mark. The cause of the error is more than likely due to some sort of foreign substance that got into the die and prevented the full strike of the coin. There is also an error on the 2001 quarter where it is double-struck.

On some of the new York State Quarters there is a die crack that can be visible on the front facing side, this small crack can rarely be seen at first glance.

I think there were some New York state quarters that had been stamped with the Philadelphia mint seal and some other scenarios where the mold had a crack. I don't know the details, though.

There is an error that starts from the top of the Q in quarter and goes down to the bottom of Washington's base. Although this is a relatively common error in a lot of US minted coins, this one particular error can be seen without the use of a 10x magnifying glass and with the naked eye.

Coin collectors love to research errors on the various coins. Whole encyclopedias are available of the mistakes made when minting the various coins. However, the New York state quarter does not seem to be a coin that has a known error.

There are no errors on a standard New York state quarter, but some individual New York state quarters may have errors such as being printed off center.

There have been off-center errors found on the New York state quarters, but there has been tightening of security and quality control at the U. S. Mint. Some assert that the New York quarter is the last to have such errors, but at least one subsequent minting (North Carolina) is affected.

I have a NY state quarter that has an extra spike in Miss Liberty's crown. Any advice, info or positive feedback would be appreciated.
