On the quarter, is a picture of the Minuteman, its nickname, The Bay state and the year that is became a state, 1788. Also is the shape of the state.

The image of the guy on the Massachusetts quarter is "the Minuteman". It's an image of the statue at the Minuteman National Historical Park in Concord.
