The best way to remove a cosigner from an auto loan is to have the financial institution refinance the loan. The first loan is a contract, so the cosigner can not just be removed from the loan without refinancing the loan to a loan in which the cosigner is not longer listed.

Some lenders are willing to remove a cosigner, but only if the other person on the loan is creditworthy. The easier way is to refinance the loan without the cosigner.

A particular cosigner of an auto loan bond can be removed only if the financier agrees to it and that too on providing another cosigner to his satisfaction and on signing the loan papers afresh.
