There are about as many Simpsons video games as there are stars in the sky. The plot for each game differs a little. The basic idea for all of them is,that the Simpsons have gotten themselves in some wacky predicament that they have to work/fight their way out of.

There are 26 of them. The most recent major "the Simpsons game" from 2007, has a complex plot. It revolves around the family realizing that they're in a video game.
