Yes, there is more than one species of black turtle. One species, a sea turtle, lives in the Galapagos Islands, another along the west coasts of North and South America. Another species of black turtle can be found in India. There is also Clemmys guttata, a kind of very small spotted turtle no bigger than 5 inches across the shell.

There is no entirely black turtle but the closest one is a Clemmys Guttata turtle which is black and has a black shell with yellow spots.

Yes there is a breed of black turtles. They bleong to in the Reeves turtle group. They will have three distinct ridges on their carapace. There are over 300 species of turtles in the world.
