 boats  value

Question by  Candie (10)

Is there a Blue Book or something similar to help determine the value of a fishing boat?

A friend has a boat for sale but neither of us knows what it's worth.

NADA puts out marine appraisal guides. Another good option that your friend can try is to use BoatTrader, who puts out a magazine so that your friend can look up comparable models. The last thing that I would suggest is for your friend to take it to a popular marina in their area and look for someone with experience selling.

The National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) has a "blue book" section for used boats. You can search by zip code. You will need to input the manufacturer's name and the model year. Then, add as much information as you can on the check list. You will get an estimate of the low retail value and average retail value.

Yes in fact there is a blue book on the price of a fishing boat, sail boats all kinds of boats. Another way you can determine the value of the boat your friend can find a good reputable boat dealer in your area and speak to him. Take a walk around boat yards and marinas in your area .
