Is there a blood test for mono?

Yes there is but most doctors use a swab in the throat method. These are a quick type test that can be read in a matter of minutes. Most doctors have them in the office for you to be tested on the spot. They are quite common in the pediatric offices.

Yes, the primary test for mono is a blood test that checks for the presence of antibodies. A doctor will also consider symptoms and white blood cell count, but the blood test is the most important.
