Elizabeth Short (aka Black Dahlia) was 22 when her mutilated body was found in LA. She was an aspiring actress. Several books/movies have been issued, most straying from the facts.

The Black Dahlia murder is based on fact. On 1/15/1947, a young woman named Elizabeth Short was found dead in a Los Angeles park. Short was a transient in California. Her death was gruesome. Her body was cut in half and her face was cut from the corners of her mouth to her ears. Her killer was never found.
