Yes the Sporting News magazine in Canada is like Sports Illustrated. They both talk about different sports and have great pictures that accompany each article. Despite the fact Sports Illustarted seems a little more sleek they are very similar.

It is a bit like Sports Illustrated, but The Sporting News lacks the emphasis on women in bathing suits. The American Sports Illustrated places a high value on bikini-clad females and athletic activities involving the fairer sex. The Sporting News magazine is a bit more objective in stance and focuses mainly on the sports themselves.

This magazine seems to be the same version in Canada as the one in the U.S. Its focus is not like that of SI; it is actually a tabloid (in size, not content) newspaper with more of an emphasis on hard news than feature stories.
