Real player 8 is outdated. You want real player 10 if you are going to use it. To download the FREE player, you can search for "real player 10" on google. The software is only required to play reel player content. Otherwise, you do not need it.

While it is a free download available from the creator's website, and while it plays the commonly found .rm file, I have found the software to be annoying and intrusive.

It's an exceptional program, and you can download it for free virtually anywhere by searching on your standard search engine. This is a fairly broad questions, there are many different types and brands of what you're looking for, I would suggest visiting your local electronics and consulting with an expert.

Real Player 8 has become an outdated technology that is losing its usefulness. It is available for free download but you may want to consider and alternative solution.

Real player is a proprietary video and audio player but much of the internet is moving away from the format. There are more universal players such as VLC media player which will play rm and ra files as well as most DVD's and many other formats.
