Is sunburn and an oatmeal bath a good combination?

I have a really bad sunburn and someone told me to take an oatmeal bath.

Yes they are. The oatmeal will help soothe the sunburn, and help with some of the pain and itching that comes with a burn.

Yes taking a oatmeal bath after getting a sun burn will not hurt you at all, in fact it should help heal. Remember part of the reason we get sun burnt is that our skin gets dried out, and an oatmeal bath will help put some of that moisture that your skin needs back in.

Yes. If you have a first-degree sunburn, colloidal oatmeal added to a luke water bath can be soothing, as well as, help with blistering of your skin. Soak in the tub for 20 minutes. Be careful when stepping out of the tub. Pat your skin with a soft towel.

Oh yes! A long soak in an oatmeal bath is great for taking the soreness out of any kind of burn. It was recommended to me by a medical doctor.

An oatmeal bath will definately help a sunburn. The oatmeal will help sooth the burn and prevent your skin from peeling. The oatmeal will also help to moisturize. Make sure the oatmeal is room temperature when applying it to the sunburn.

It is a terrific suggestion. Make sure all the burned areas are submerged in the oatmeal bath and, once done, let the residue of the oatmeal remain on your skin for a while. It will provide much needed relief. Adding vinegar instead of oatmeal to the bath also helps!
