Strep C is streptococcal bacteria that is commonly found in animals, such as, birds, rabbits, horses and guinea pigs. Strep C can occur in humans with no signs or symptoms. For others, it causes a bacterial infection with signs and symptoms depending on location. It is occasionally a severe infection. All streptococcal bacteria is contagious and is treated with antibiotics.

Yes, strep C is contagious. It can be transmitted by close contact..ie kissing. It is easy to get because it is hard to diagnose since it does not show up on a rapid antigen test so it goes untreated or under treated and thus is easily transferred to others in your contact area.

Yes I would think any type of strep would be contagious. You would need to go to the doctor and get an antibotic, probably have to take the cycle for at least seven days.

All strep types are contagious. They tend to spread quickly among children or other people with close contact and generally poor hygiene practices.
