If you take the proper precautions and go with someone who is certified then I would say its pretty safe. The proper precautions would be to go to some place that is certified or accrediated and go with someone with the proper accrediations. But always make sure you have life insurance in case something went wrong.

Yes, the chances are slim that something will happen, but it must be dealt with by using professionals who skydive professionally. There is always a chance for anything to happen, and liability forms are available before skydiving.

Of course it is. You're jumping from an airplane. On the other hand, so is driving, walking across a street, etc.
