Schroeder is a German name. This name, however, also appears among the Jews, as many Jewish Ashkenazi names stem from German. As a German name, Schroeder comes from East Prussia (today belonging to Russia) and stems from the Low German verb "schroden", meaning "to cut" or "to chop".

Nope, Shroeder isn't Jewish, it's German. It means someone who cut cloth for tailors, from the German verb "schroten," meaning "to cut".

The majority of Schroeders belong in non-semitic DNA haplogroups - I, R1b, R1a, etc. A small percentage are in the Semitic haplogroups J and E, and may have Jewish ancestry. I'm actually trying to find that out as an E haplogroup Schroeder.
