Is pampas grass worth it?

Pampas grass is a nice addition for a large blank space in the yard. But it does spread out and grows tall and has a habit of taking over the area. You need to tie it to a fence so it doesn't fall forward.

If it is a good value I don't. It is low maintenance, resistent to pests, grows fast, and grows in nice and thick. It is fairly cheap to buy from the local garden store, so it would seem to be well worth it. So if you have bare spots in the yard, fill them in!

On the plus side, pampas grass is very hardy and versatile. Unfortunately, it has a tendency to be highly invasive, so it may turn into a big chore.

I personally feel it was not worth it. Every year it needed thinning out and "grooming" to keep looking good. Finally removed. Roots were a mess to work with.
