Midol's main ingredient is acetaminophen, the pain reliever found in Tylenol. It can be used for other pain relief but be aware that it also contains caffeine and a diuretic.

Midol Liquid Gels are simply ibuprofen. The packaging states that it can be used for multiple pain ailments, including headache, toothache, muscle ache, etc. The Midol products that contain Pamabrom probably should not be used for generic pain since Pamabrom is a diuretic and most likely unnecessary for a muscle ache.

Midol could be used for other pains. It does contain a pain reliever (either acetaminophen or ibuprofen depending on the formula). It also contains other ingredients to help with PMS, such as caffeine and a diuretic. So you can use it for pain, but it will give you a buzz and make you need to pee as well.

Ibuprofen is the only active ingredient in Midol. It is a pain reliever. It is marketed to relieve menstrual cramps as it has a lower dosage. There is another drug Midol Menstrual Complete which has Acetaminophen for pain, caffeine and Pyrilamine to address headaches, a bloated feeling and weakness.
