I don't think it is GSM because metro PCS is only a CDMA network, like many other networks. Ex, Sprint, Verizon, All tel. You can visit their website for more details on their CDMA service. Metro PCS is CDMA 1900 Mhz so you won't get any kind of GSM services from Metro PCS.

Metro PCS is CDMA which means you will not be able to use their phones on any other network, so be careful.
