Hills m/d is most commonly used for cats with diabetes. Hills cat food is not the best quality however and there are better foods for the treatment of diabetes. All dry foods should be removed from the diet and a low carb canned food should be fed. Wellness makes some excellent grain free canned foods that work well for a diabetic cat.

Science Diet M/D is a prescription diet for cats with Diabetes. It can only be prescribed by your veterinarian. It uses fairly low quality ingredients (not human grade) but it has been shown to help regulate Diabetes. It would be best to discuss this with your cat's doctor.

Do you mean Hills DM? If so, nutritionally this is a good buy, but like any premium pet food, it is expensive compared to store brands.

M/D cat food is definitely worth the buy. Even though it is pricier than some of the the other brands, there are more benefits.

I would never buy any Science diet food for my pets. The ingredients are bad like corn and chemicals. I had a bad experience with K/D.
