Do what your artist told you to do. Lubriderm, A&D, or specialty lotions such as H2Ocean ALL can be used with success if they are used correctly. Your artist knows what is best for you. Neosporen should NOT be used as well as vasoline. Don't know, then shutup.

have gotten alot of ink over the past few years, and for sure NEVER use any type of neosporen or like polysporen or any of that crap. It can ruin a tatto. use Lubriderm AFTER wet scabs turn dry 1-3 days after  add a comment

A&D is the most commonly recommended ointment by most artists, but everyone's body is different and you have to find the regimen that works best for YOU. Vaseline and Neosporin are big no-no's though. They can clog the pores, cause bumpiness, and make the colors bleed out.

It os recommended that you use A and D ointment on a new tattoo. I broke out from using it after both of my tattoos so I used vasoline. The thing to remember is that you need to keep the tattoo moist until it starts healing, otherwise your clothes may stick to it

It is usually fine to use Lubriderm on a tattoo as long as it does not contain dyes or perfumes. However, it is best to follow advice of the artist.

Absolutely! When I got my tattoo, in fact, the tattoo artist actually suggested Lubriderm by name. It is extremely gentle and my tattoo healed very quickly with no problems whatsoever.

No, I would recommend a more product such as Neosporin that offers a more protective covering and provides some antiseptic or antibiotic properties as well.

Never use neosporin on a new tattoo, it's great for normal cut's and scapes but not a tattoo, lubriderm is fine, usually you can call the tattoo shop where you got it done and ask them what would be best.  add a comment

Lubriderm is good to use on a tattoo. Apply NO MORE than 4 times a day, more than that and you risk the tattoo not being able to heal correctly.

After about 2 - 3 days it seems it would be ok to use Lubriderm.

Lubriderm is the answer, Aquafor is also a great choice. I just did a 9 hour piece and used Aquafor for a few days and am on Lubriderm now and have had no scabs. Remember don't use too much, moderation, it's all in moderation.

drink a LOT of water - this helps moisturize the skin from within. At least 8 glasses a day for at least 1 week

Please please please don't ever use neosporin for whoever reads this!!! a tattoo is a the same as a cut or bruise. if you use neosporin ,it's going to heal the tattoo as in make it disappear

My tattoo guy told me to use carmex, it works and then I started using lubriderm which you have to keep using alot because if not it starts to crack I went back to carmex because it stays moisturized longer.
