Absolutely! The chicken pox vaccine is about 85% effective. There will be some people that it won't work as well for, but even if it doesn't completely protect you from getting chicken pox, it should still help keep you from getting a very severe case. There is really no good reason not to get it.

All vaccines contain questionable ingredients that may raise your child's chance of developing autism or autoimmune disorders. In most cases, children who get the chicken pox do not have severe complications, so you should weigh the risk of the illness along with potential toxicity from the vaccine. Talk to your physician.

No. Chicken pox is very rarely fatal, and nearly every adult or child gets it at some point in their life. Your chances of getting an unpleasant side effect from the virus are much higher.

I would say yes. The virus is very contagious. The pox can cause scarring if scratched too much. Shingles is also a strain of the chicken pox virus.

Yes, it does prevent chicken pox. If you have not gotten them before it can really prevent chicken pox. The reason you would like to prevent chicken pox is because they can cause a lot of uncomfortable days, the itching, the flaky pumps, the contagiousness, the fever. IT is something that is well worth it.
