Is it safe to take birth control if you have Crohns disease?

It is somewhat safe, but note that Crohn's disease can lower the effectiveness of oral contraception, and conversely the pill can predispose one to Crohn's disease.

Many doctors recommend not taking birth control pills if you have Crohn's disease. They not be absorbed well, resulting in unexpected pregnancy. Birth control pills may also exacerbate the symptoms of Crohn's disease.

if you have any disease you should see your dr before you take any kind of drug like birth control because if you take it you could get really sick

I do not know if it is safe to take birth control if you have crohn's disease. If it is not safe, you can use a condom, an intra uterine device, the rhythm method, or abstain from any sexual actifvity. I hope you can take birth control if you have crohn's. /
