Is it normal to bleed vaginally after a bowel movement during pregnancy?

No, it is never normal to bleed vaginally during pregnancy, chances are you were pushing to hard during your bowel movement. YOu should contact your doctor and discuss the bleeding with him or her any time that it occurs. Bleeding in pregnancy is never something you should take lightly. Always call your dr upon noticing bleeding.

Pregnant women are likely to develop hemorrhoids, especially during the third trimester. This can cause bleeding after having a bowel movement, but you should consult a physician.

Not necessarily, but it may not be related to the bowel movement either. This may just be implanation spotting, which is harmless. Consult your OB for further advice.

Yes, it is relatively normal and the most common causes are hemorrhoids or a small tear in the anus, which can be irritated and torn more if your stools are too hard. However, if it is a lot of blood, you should get it checked out by your doctor.
