Is it good to get a new kitten for a grieving cat?

Eventually yes, but not right away. Let your cat grieve for awhile before introducing it to a new playmate. This way the two of them will get off on the right foot.

It really depends on the personality of the grieving cat. They may welcome it with open arms or be upset and feel no one can replace the one they lost.

This is so hard, but it depends on the situation. If it is a mother, then yes; I've had a lot of success with that. If it is a "friend," they will sometimes reject the new arrival, especially if they are much older and have claimed territory in the house.

Yes. However it's better to wait a week or so before introducing a new cat to the house. Remember not to ignore your "old" cat now that you have the new fun kitten at home. your attention to the old cat has to be priority or the old cat won't accept the kitten as he will feel pushed away.
